Poetic Justice (aka scientifically accurate poetry)

Joan Winifred poetry science & spirituality

Your eyes even saw me as an embryo; all its parts were written in your book.” (Psalm 139:16)

In poetic language, David speaks of an embryo developing according to the directions written in a preexisting “book,” or plan. Amazingly, this was written some 3,000 years ago!

Yet, it was not until the mid-1800’s that Austrian botanist Gregor Mendel discovered the basic principles of genetics. And only in April 2003 did researchers finish sequencing the human genome, which contains all the genetic information needed to build a living human body. Scientists have described the genetic chemical code as being like a dictionary filled with words made up of the letters of an alphabet. The words form the genetic instructions. Based on these instructions, the embryo’s parts—such as the brain, heart, lungs, and limbs—develop in precise sequence and with perfect timing. Fittingly, the genome has been described by scientists as “the book of life.” How was the Bible writer David able to be so accurate? He humbly admitted: “The spirit of Jehovah spoke through me; his word was on my tongue.” *[In the Bible, God is identified by his personal name, Jehovah.]—2 Samuel 23:2. cycles of rain (in due season)

Joan Winifred science & spirituality

The Bible states: “[God] draws up the drops of water; they condense into rain from his mist; then the clouds pour it down.”—Job 36:27, 28.

Here the Bible describes the three main steps of the hydrologic cycle. God—the Source of solar heat—“draws up the drops of water” by (1) evaporation. Then, by means of (2) condensation, the uplifted water vapor forms clouds that pour water down as rain or some other form of (3) precipitation. Even now, meteorologists do not fully understand all the details of the phenomenon of rain. Interestingly, the Bible asks: “Can anyone understand the layers of clouds?” (Job 36:29) The Creator, however, does understand the rain cycle and saw to it that a human writer would include the facts accurately in the Bible. And he did this long before men could explain the basic process scientifically. [excerpted reading The Bible–Accurate in All Respects Awake! No. 3 2017]

Pre-Flood & Post-Flood

Breathing-Fragile-Life Joan Winifred

Indeed, you have made my days just a few;*+And my life span is as nothing before you.+Surely every man, though he seems secure, is nothing but a mere breath.+ (Psalm 89:5)

The lifespan spectrum of humanity…started out long, grew shorter, short then will increase out into eternity. Please check it out:

The Bible book of Genesis speaks of seven men who lived more than 900 years, all of them being born prior to the Flood of Noah’s day. They were Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Jared, Methuselah, and Noah. (Genesis 5:5-27; 9:29) Many of these men may be unfamiliar to most people, but all of them were among the first ten generations in human history. Methuselah is well-known for having lived the longest—a record 969 years!

The Bible mentions at least another 25 individuals who also reached ages beyond what is common today. Some of them lived 300, 400, even 700 or more years. (Genesis 5:28-31;11:10-25)

Not a legend; NOT A MYTH…real people living real-ly loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong lives;)

Some have alleged that time was measured differently in those days and that what was called a year was actually a month. An analysis of the Genesis account, however, leaves no doubt that people back then had the same concept of time as we do today. Consider two examples. In the Flood account, we read that the Deluge began when Noah was 600 years old, “in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month.” Then it goes on to say that the waters overwhelmed the earth for 150 days and that “in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.” (Genesis 7:11, 24; 8:4) Thus, a period of five months—from the 17th day of the second month to the 17th day of the seventh month of that year—is said to be 150 days. Clearly, the claim that a year was actually a month is totally baseless.

Now consider a second example. According to Genesis 5:15-18, Mahalalel fathered a son at the age of 65, lived on for 830 years, and died at the age of 895. His grandson Enoch also fathered a son when 65 years old. (Genesis 5:21) If a year were really one month, then those two men would have become parents when they were only five years old! Does that make any sense?

Archaeology also comes into the picture, for it agrees with Bible statements about long-lived individuals. About the patriarch Abraham, the Bible says that he was from the city of Ur, that he later resided in the city of Haran and then in the region of Canaan, and that he fought and defeated Chedorlaomer, king of Elam. (Genesis 11:31; 12:5; 14:13-17) Discoveries have confirmed the existence of these places and people. Archaeology has also shed some light on features of the lands and customs of the peoples mentioned in connection with Abraham. Since these Bible statements about Abraham are accurate, why should there be questions about his age of 175 years?—Genesis 25:7.

There is, therefore, no reason to be skeptical about the Bible’s statements regarding the extraordinarily long lives of some people in ancient times.

The outstanding longevity of those men living prior to the Flood proves that the human body has a remarkable potential for life. Modern technology has enabled scientists to take a closer look at the human body and its marvelous design, including its amazing capacity for regenerating and healing itself. Their conclusion? It is capable of living indefinitely. “[Aging],” says Professor of Medicine Tom Kirkwood, “remains one of the great mysteries of medical science.”

People before the Flood were closer to perfection than we are, and that is why they lived longer—much longer—than we do at present. But today we are closer to the time when God’s promise will be fulfilled. Soon all traces of sin and imperfection will be gone, and people will not have to degenerate and die.—[excerpted article W 2010 Did People in Bible Times Really Live So Long?]

Isaiah 33:24…

And no resident (inhabitant) will say: “I am sick.”

The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error.

; Titus 1:2 “and is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago;”.

“Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the true God has made from the start to the finish.” The NIV Study Bible renders this verse: “He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”—Ecclesiastes 3:11.

Life spans & time…

Solomon wrote: “I have seen the occupation that God has given to the sons of mankind in which to be occupied. Everything he has made pretty in its time.”—Ecclesiastes 3:10.

God has given mankind many occupations, or things to do—Solomon listed a number of them. God has also given us the free will to choose what we want to do. However, for every task, there is a time that is right, or favorable, producing the best result. Take, for instance, Solomon’s statement “a time to plant and a time to uproot what was planted,” found at Ecclesiastes 3:2. Farmers know that for every crop, there is a right time for planting it. What if a farmer ignores that simple fact and plants a crop at the wrong time or season? Should he blame it on fate if he does not get a good harvest, even though he has worked hard on it? Of course not! He simply did not plant the crop at the right time. The farmer could have done well had he followed the natural order of things established by the Creator.

Thus, what God has set down is, not the fate of individuals or the outcome of all events, but certain principles that govern the operation of human affairs in line with his purpose. For humans to enjoy the result of their endeavors, they must discern and work in harmony with God’s purpose and time. What is predetermined and unalterable is not the fate of individuals but what God has purposed to do. Through the prophet Isaiah, Jehovah declared: “My word that goes forth from my mouth . . . will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.”—Isaiah 55:11. Otter Know

Breathing-Fragile-Life comfort insights science & spirituality wisdom

Divine Design…

The fur of the sea otter is denser than that of any other mammal, with some one million hairs per square inch (155,000 per sq cm). When the otter swims, its coat traps a layer of air close to its body. That air acts as an insulator, preventing the cold water from coming into direct contact with the animal’s skin and sapping its body heat.

Scientists believe that there is a lesson to be learned from the sea otter’s fur. They have experimented with a number of artificial fur coats, varying such factors as hair length and hair spacing. The researchers have concluded that “the denser and the longer the hairs are, the dryer or the more water-repellent the hairy surface is.” Put another way, sea otters can boast a truly efficient fur coat.

Researchers hope that their studies will lead to technological advances in the design and production of novel water-repellent textiles. This may lead some to wonder whether people who have to dive in cold waters may not be better off wearing a hairy wet suit—one similar to that of the sea otter! [excerpted reading highlights…AWAKE! bartering & bantering

(some) barter away later

for the here & now (snap!)

my here & now buys

my later (though difficult & ya! there is (a) price/(a) sacrifice)

The Here & NOw is a fleeting moment (a snap of a finger! a bash on a keyboard!) (a temporary pleasure/a temporary pain)

AND

Later (as a whole) is immeasurable…(beyond a moment/beyond instant gratification)!

((a nameless someone) throws You a life-line and You swat it away…cause it’s not the preconceived bug–you “think” it should be cause may be? IDK, You don’t like/value “long” life enough to consider future/hope–a way out of man-made messes without man-made solutions)

bowing low

compassion humility Joan Winifred

“HUMILITY attracts. We usually feel drawn to those who have a humble spirit. Sadly, though, genuine humility is hard to find in today’s world—especially in those who have power or authority over others.”

(Unless i bow low, cannot be raised up…(Nor can i attain accurate knowledge without humility.))

an interesting/comforting Psalm 113…

Who is like Jehovah our God,

The one who dwells*(enthroned) on high?

6 He stoops down to look on heaven and earth,

7 Raising the lowly from the dust.

He lifts up the poor from the ash heap*(garbage dump)

pride sadly causes us to be insensitive and stubborn and self-centered and unwilling to help Others, etc. (or to bow low enough to elevate another’s needs)…so, Yeah! i will (try)/continue cultivating humility/to bow low to compassion and the Only True God of Compassion!

Noise & Trash

Joan Winifred

“People who live near a busy train station may no longer notice the noise, and those who live near a garbage dump may no longer notice the smell. AH< but take away all those negative factors–What relief!”

All of us have lived in this world (full of violence, strife, sickness, corruption, oppression, You name it)–our whole lives…may be some of us have stopped noticing…”how much stress we feel over world conditions.”

i am NOT GONNA BE LULLED TO SLEEP BY THE NOISE or GROW APATHETIC TO THE PUNGENT ODORS OF A DECAYING/DYING SYSTEM!!! i am NOT GONNA BE FORCE-FED BRAIN CONTROLLING MINDFOOD MANIPULATING ME INTO THINKNG THAT THE WAY THINGS ARE NOW (ALL THE ATROCITIES, VIOLENCE, HATRED, AND TRAGEDIES, SUFFERINGS, ETC…) IS ACCEPTABLE/RATIONAL OR REASONABLE OR SO-CALLED NORMAL OR JUST ON SOME LEVEL!!!

“Much of the evil that is done in this world is the work not of individuals but of organizations. Think, for instance, of the religious organizations that deceive millions of peole about the nature of God, the trustworthiness of the Bible, the future of the earth and makind–and many other subjects. Or what about the governments that promote war and ethnic violence, that oppress the poor and defenseless, that thrive on bribery and favortism? What about greedy corporations that pollute the environment, deplete natural resources, and exploit the gullibility of consumers in order to bring untold wealth to a few while millions struggle in poverty? Without question, corrupt organizations are responsbile for much of the misery in today’s world.” (excerpted reading: “What Will Go When God’s Kingdom Comes?”)

1 way to a measure of relief…For me, personally, (i value Compassion and Peace, etc.) so i examine my attachments, alliances, and support…i REFUSE TO SUPPORT ANY Organization(s) that is ruining this beautiful planet and the beautiful-fragile-life upon it! I have NO TIES with deceptive/false religion and i choose political neutrality.

Noise Pollution and Other forms of pollution take a toll on Peace & Serenity! (This topic may? be continued…in another post IDK right now.)
