attitude Breathing-Fragile-Life comfort hope Joan Winifred logic never giving up!

To keep themselves warm during cold weather, butterflies spread their wings in the sun. The wings of some species of swallowtail are remarkably efficient at trapping and absorbing sunlight. The insects’ secret lies not just in their dark pigment but also in the structure of microscopic, overlapping scales coating their wings. The scales, in turn, contain rows of honeycomblike holes separated by inverse V-shaped ridges that funnel light into the holes. This ingenious structure traps incoming sunlight, making the wings extremely black and warming the butterfly with amazing efficiency.

“Butterfly wings may rank among the most delicate structures in nature,” says Science Daily, “but they have given researchers powerful inspiration for new technology that doubles the production of hydrogen gas—a green fuel of the future—from water and sunlight.” [excerpted Article/my bold highlights: Was It Designed? The Light-Absorbing Butterfly Wing AWAKE! 2014]

hmmmm…a no brainer to me, YES! An innovative-intelligent-chief-builder-designer constructed/created Butterfly wings!:)

Life Lesson: Don’t underestimate any (seemingly) delicate structure/frame/form…

If Butterflies can fly/function with 70% wing damage…

IF only 30% of my life is chaos/problem/challenge-free…i can still FLY HIGH!…survive 🙂

Reason – able expectations

comfort conscientious-ness humility insights

able to reason…

reason-able

expectations for myself that i can modestly/reasonably reach…(within my personal abilities)

“there’s a big difference between the healthy pursuit of excellence and the unhealthy striving for an impossible ideal,” says the book Perfectionism—What’s Bad About Being Too Good? It adds: “Perfectionism can be a heavy burden because, let’s face it, nobody’s perfect.”

The Bible agrees. It states: “There is no righteous man on earth who always does good.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20)

The Bible says: “Let your reasonableness become known.” (Philippians 4:5) Reasonable people are balanced in what they expect of themselves and in what they expect of others.

The Bible says: “Walk in modesty with your God!” (Micah 6:8) Modest people recognize their limitations. They don’t take on more than they can handle; nor do they spend more time on a task than they can afford.

The Bible says: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10) So the remedy for perfectionism isn’t laziness; it’s industriousness, but blended with the qualities mentioned above—reasonableness and modesty. [excerpted: Am I a Perfectionist? Young People Ask]

GROW…ing

sometimes i wonder

IF

i am growing

depressed…(though, to console myself i “think” it’s just realism on an upswing) i “like” to believe as “a believer” my stance/attitude remains constantly/consistently realistically optimistic…for the most part.

though a smidgen of my innocence and rosy-colored glasses have cracks now…mostly due to stuff beyond my control.

i can control my attitude, this i know…plus, i haven’t slept well since getting back from our short vaca.

(yet, realistically speaking: 2nd hand smoke is deadly; you know.)

breathing in too much negativity and toxicity (and via media, etc)

(albeit trying to help…)

yep, there are risks in trying to help/(give)…Others. always reaching/stretching out..

first responders are the first reapers…or is it weepers.

to truly exhibit/experience fellow feeling…means crying with those who cry/weeping with those who weep…and rejoicing with those who rejoice.

it’s

just

trying to help those suffering…i am not immune to suffering…

but to comfort others and learn how to comfort, you need to know what it means to be

UNCOMFORTABLE

7/1/17 @ 3:00 p.m.

it brings me comfort in knowing being uncomfortable means i am learning…perhaps, what i need to learn.

i am NEVER GIVING UP…HOPE!!!:)

Otter Know

Breathing-Fragile-Life comfort insights science & spirituality wisdom

Divine Design…

The fur of the sea otter is denser than that of any other mammal, with some one million hairs per square inch (155,000 per sq cm). When the otter swims, its coat traps a layer of air close to its body. That air acts as an insulator, preventing the cold water from coming into direct contact with the animal’s skin and sapping its body heat.

Scientists believe that there is a lesson to be learned from the sea otter’s fur. They have experimented with a number of artificial fur coats, varying such factors as hair length and hair spacing. The researchers have concluded that “the denser and the longer the hairs are, the dryer or the more water-repellent the hairy surface is.” Put another way, sea otters can boast a truly efficient fur coat.

Researchers hope that their studies will lead to technological advances in the design and production of novel water-repellent textiles. This may lead some to wonder whether people who have to dive in cold waters may not be better off wearing a hairy wet suit—one similar to that of the sea otter! [excerpted reading highlights…AWAKE! No. 3 2017 The Sea Otter’s Fur]

Senselessness

Breathing-Fragile-Life comfort hope Joan Winifred justice

Senseless suffering of fellow-fragile-life…earth-wide has me sad at the moment and i’m fighting tears…the “temporary” nature of it all brings me solace.

Look around, look around…You don’t have to look too far or too wide to see the injury fellow humans inflict on each other constantly (physically or psychologically, etc.).

Can we all stop! Get along! Show Love and Compassion. And “try” to forgive.

(We would all feel so much better…and cry less.) and maybe–Laugh More:)

No matter what our pain, or plight…Couldn’t we all use a JUST hero?!…who compassionately pleads/works tirelessly…for all of us including the cause of the lowly, the lost, the burned and the maimed, the forgotten and the unpopular, the powerless, and helpless, and hungry, and “for whoever has no helper”…

Rescuing Kitty Cats

caregiving comfort compassion conscientious-ness Joan Winifred

IDK…is this my job now?? to rescue cute kitty cats and constantly feed them milk then solid food?? (i guess, it’s a perfectly fine job.)

{But like how many strays/ferals can one person really help/care for?? managing attachments is NOT an easy task. (believe me, i don’t just wanna help the so-called “adorable” cats.)}

not complaining…sigh, sigh.

On any given day, there are cats/people needing some help/comfort/food in one way or another…just doing my (non-partial) compassion job (nothing special on my part).  Out of all the cats in the world…”why” did you have to meow?!

OW!

all i know is my motto: “Trust in God and Do Good.”…or try your best to do your best and leave the rest to GOD (of Compassion)…(to figure out)

Trust in Jehovah and do what is good; Reside in the earth, and act with faithfulness. (Psalm 37:3)

Anyway, my kids/our family did actually “rescue” recently a (literal) baby kitty…(my very ill (fav) cousin in hospice helped name her)…

i live with hope so…so, may be? i can help give some hope (theocracy)..

in seemingly hopeless places…you can find…
