MUSIC has power. It can calm us, stir us, and lift our spirits. It can express both our joys and our sorrows. Common to virtually all cultures—past and present—music is a language of both the mind and the heart. Yes, music truly is a gift from God.

listening to this reminds me of my musical fleeting fantasies (in jr. high aka middle school “now”adays)…of being a female conductor!…i was in concert band middle/high school…a conductor seemed a lot cooler than being a clarinetist -lol…for sure! Tell me how i go from playing violin to the clarinet?!?!…the only schmo willing to “volunteer” cause i wanted flute…and drums..but parents quashed that fast…the neighbors wouldn’t tolerate me banging drums. Nobody wanted to play clarinet and my music teacher pleaded to the class…my VERY musical cousin…awesome guitarist..response: WHY? would you choose a “dead” instrument?…not exactly my preference, but i did enJOY it…winds and strings. With only sooo much time and so much learning/studying to do…the natural progression of musical interests at a young age from violin to clarinet..to get really good/accomplished…i would of had to devote all my time/mind to music..wasn’t willing to make that sacrifice..same with dance/ballet…left playing for dancing..my spirituality was emerging…no regrets..just “funny” music memories.

when you really love something…it can consume you/drown you..IF you let it! It can take over everything else in life including important relationships..so, for me, finding a balance…took a little learning/growing…strength/courage to say good bye (for now) to playing, dancing..hours of practice, over consumption of a lot of time, energy of youthful mind/body…
