preparations & precautions (& principles)

when i am prepared and take precautions…do i benefit myself?! (and probably others too?)

excerpted reading: (my highlights)

Bible principles are fundamental truths. Laws, on the other hand, may be for specific circumstances. ( e.g., Deuteronomy 22:8  “If you build a new house, you must also make a parapet for your roof, so that you may not bring bloodguilt on your house because of someone falling from it.”) We must use thinking ability to understand how a principle applies in a particular situation. (Proverbs 2:10-12  “When wisdom enters your heart And knowledge becomes pleasant to your soul,11  Thinking ability will keep watch over you, And discernment will safeguard you,12  To save you from the bad course, From the man speaking perverse things,”) For example, the Bible teaches that life is a gift from God. That basic principle can guide us at work, at home, and while traveling. It leads us to take safety precautions.—Read Acts 17:28 “For by him we have life and move and exist, even as some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his children.’” (How Do Bible Principles Benefit Us)

{There are fundamental truths..IF we respect these..using thinking ability, discernment..preparing our mind/heart and take precautions to protect ourselves (i.e. being cognizant of potential threats to our well-being) we make safe/er choices.}
